Successful launch EAQ V tour at The Festival of Quilts

Hung in a spacious gallery setting with white carpeting, EAQ V met with an enthusiastic and admiring public in Birmingham. The enchanting flow of colour and the complimentary rhythm of the hanging enhanced every quilt in such a way that each met with its special admirer: "I like this quilt best".

Some remarks from the guestbook:

"…wonderful... inspiring...absolutely stunning...fantastic...amazing…’"

"We are privileged to see such a varied and accomplished range of work. EAQ is an important exhibition for European quilters, a unique opportunity to show our work around the world."

"Artists bare their souls
 Share deepest passions in colours
 my heart sings in harmony"

From 7-9 April 2008 a five-headed international jury had the difficult task to select 42 works from 160 entrees by 128 artists from 15 European countries. Selection criteria were: originality, artistic quality and expression. In addition, each jury member and staff member was also invited to enter a piece.

EAQ V showcases 48 contemporary works made by leading European art quilters. The exhibition will be travelling around the world, with museum and gallery venues in Korea, the Netherlands, USA, Denmark and Germany.

Please see Agenda for more information.

The EAQF would like to thank all participating artists for entering their work for selection.
